![]() The only changes are that there's some minor balance tweaks and new weapons added (which you can turn off in the Game Options by switching the weapon arsenal to Classic). If you play and complete the game through that mod, no one's gonna say you didn't beat the game as it doesn't change the level design or the core gameplay. It's an excellent fan-made remaster that's very faithful to the original game, heavily customizable, and allows you to play at a modern widescreen resolution. Option A) For starters, I would suggest giving RealRTCW a try on Steam. ![]() The option you pick depends on how important a vanilla experience is for you, with RealRTCW being a faithful fan-made remaster, and the ioRTCW sourceport being 100% vanilla. To play at a modern resolution, the two best options are RealRTCW and ioRTCW. ![]() Steam Library -> rightclick Return to Castle Wolfenstein -> Properties -> Local Files tab -> Browse button -> opening the "Main" folder in your "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" folder -> delete wolfconfig.cfg -> boot up RTCW I will post a reply with instructions for both. If you do want modern widescreen and native resolution support for RTCW, you'll want to download either the ioRTCW sourceport or the RealRTCW remaster on Steam and play the campaign through one of those options instead. The game will crash between the 3rd and 4th level every time if you do this until you switch the resolution back to something like 1024x768 or 800圆00 again, so it's just a hassle to deal with and wholly outdated. Hardsetting a resolution will work at first, but some cutscenes between levels were not futureproofed to work at anything higher than 1024x768. I also do NOT recommend changing the resolution directly via the wolfconfig.cfg file yourself like some have suggested in the past before better solutions became available. I have no idea why they're included in the Steam version, as the retail version never had them in the first place. It's possible that the wide resolutions included in the Steam version of the game work fine when windowed and not full screen, but I've never tested that myself, and I still don't recommend using them.
